Writing blog posts to promote your pet business is a brilliant way to engage your audience and grow your following. Pet parents appreciate tips they can use with their pets, and love seeing the people behind your business.

But videos are taking the internet by storm. The number of people consuming videos online is more than ever before. And this gives pet businesses the opportunity to achieve even better results from their marketing.

Because according to Social Media Today, 72% of customers prefer learning about a product or service through video, and 88% spend more time browsing on websites that have videos. We can’t afford to ignore those stats!

Which means when writing your blog posts, it’s a good idea to include videos within the posts where possible.

Simply record the steps with a client’s dog to help your audience visualise how it’s done.

Videos add the human touch, helping your readers see exactly who you are, how you work with their pets and what you have to offer. This means pet parents can better relate to you and your brand. They build a connection with your business, which helps them see you as the number one choice when they’re ready to buy.

Videos also give you another piece of content you can share with your audience. Each video you include in your blog posts can also be shared to your social platforms. You can then invite people to check out the relevant blog post to bring them back to your website.

 

How to include video in your blog posts

Adding videos to your blog posts is easy. And please don’t think you need a special camera or a professional video crew. Nobody really cares about quality – rough and ready is perfectly fine. Just try to keep the camera steady and make sure you’re in shot. Have a team member or friend use your phone to record you in action.

Then sign up to Youtube if you don’t already have an account, and upload your video. Then all you need to do is click the ‘share’ button at the bottom of your video, then the ‘embed’ button, and drop the code into your post where you want it to appear. Your readers can then watch your video on your website without having to click away.
